Hamilton Takes Penalty, Passes Win to Massa at Spa.

By Team Principal on Mon September 8 2008

I'm glad I'm not a Formula One race steward, they must need better security than George Bush!  Following the tedium in Valencia, Spa was an exciting weekend's racing, culminating in one of the best final two laps of an Grand Prix I've ever seen; what a shame no one will remember it, thanks to a harsh penalty given out post-race which rendered the final laps irrelevant.

German F1 Grand Prix Race 2008

By Team Principal on Wed July 23 2008

Out of each of the four drivers who had the chance to pull out an early championship lead in this second half of the season, there was only one who stepped up to take the challenge in Germany.  Love him or hate him, Lewis Hamilton proved just how dedicated he is behind the steering wheel of his McLaren racecar as everyone around him fell in his path.

Australian F1 Grand Prix 2008.

By Team Principal on Mon March 17 2008

What a great start to the season!  Although I was looking forward to F1 2008, I was slightly concerned that the sport on general had lost its charm for me after last season, but Melbourne had no trouble in reminding me how fantastic F1 can be when all the ingredients are right.

Kimi Raikkonen - F1 World Champion 2007

By Team Principal on Mon October 22 2007

At the end of 2006, smart money said it would be Kimi's year, after all, Micheal Schumacher had retired and Ferrari were at the top of their game at the end of season, plus then champ Alonso was on his way to a new team and no-one knew how he was going to handle the change - leaving it all down to Kimi.

Lewis Loses F1 2007 World Championship

By Team Principal on Mon October 22 2007

Although Lewis Hamilton's name was mentioned before the start of the season, few considered him as a plausible World Champion contender - he was an F1 rookie and was paired with a vastly more experienced team mate after all - but fast forward until the penultimate race of the year at China and he was 17 points clear of Kimi and needed a win to claim the Championship from Alonso, his closest challenger.

F1 2007 European Grand Prix Report.

By Team Principal on Sun July 22 2007

Had to get the qualifying results from the websites this morning, as work commitments made it impossible for me to catch it live.  With the news that Hamilton would be fit to race today, came a little hope that he could at least salvage some points and maintain a healthy championship lead, but this hope faded with the chaos that ensued thanks to the Nurburgring's infamous changeable weather.

F1 2007 British Grand Prix Race

By Team Principal on Tue July 10 2007

Words such as disappointment, when used concerning a race driver who has been on the podium for nine consecutive races, just goes to show what we have come to expect from Lewis Hamilton this season.  But it was said that he was dealing with disappointment following his third place at Silverstone, following his amazing pole position lap.  Should he feel this way, should we?

US and French Grand Prix Overview.

By Team Principal on Wed July 4 2007

F1 Pitbox has been without it usual Grand Prix qualifying and race reports due to me falling asleep during Indy and only waking briefly when Raikkonen pulled a Schumi and overtook team mate Massa at Magny Cours. Of course, this didn't happen (an extended holiday happened really), but the fact remains that neither race could stand up and proclaim that it was actually exciting. Even though Hamilton produced another fantastic win in the USA, the rest of the race was uneventful and France was similarly tedious.

F1 2007 Canadian Grand Prix Race

By Team Principal on Mon June 11 2007

It's been a while since I shouted at the television, but for some reason, Sato's move on the increasingly sour-faced Alonso made me cheer him through as if I was sitting beside him. This move was the culmination of an astounding Grand Prix, that will sit alongside the greats. If anyone (that means you Villeneuve) doubted Hamilton's ability to handle pressure, this was the performance to prove them wrong.
